After growing up on a beef cow farm and an early start in zoo keeping, Dr. North followed her love of all species into veterinary medicine and around the world.
Dr. North spent the first eight years of her veterinary career in the US Army Veterinary Corps. She served in varied positions ranging from clinical doctor, zoonotic disease consultant, humanitarian aid mission planner and team leader, instructor for military and other government dog handler rescue/deployment medicine courses, managing a general practice hospital for pets of service members, disaster response, and various other roles.
After the military, she utilized the particular trauma and emergency skills she had developed in her Army career to take her veterinary career into emergency medicine. She initially worked at a multi-hospital AAHA certified and multiple national award winning practice in Phoenix, AZ in exclusively ER medicine. She then relocated to the PNW in 2017 where she continued working in several different area emergency clinics, in both full time and relief positions.
After finishing a total of 10 years in ER work, Dr. North decided she needed more daylight in her life and made the change into general practice, working first at WellHavens’ Milwaukee location. Dr. North is very happy to take on the Principal Doctor role here at the Hillsboro location, to help expand our practice and further support our local pet community.
Dr. Diane Healey grew up in Montana before attending Colorado State University, and later moved to Portland in 1989 where she’s been practicing small animal medicine for over 25 years. In April 2013 she fulfilled her lifelong dream to own her own clinic by purchasing Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic.
The best part of being a vet is that by working with individual pet’s and their owners, Dr. Healey to get to know what’s special and unique about each one. Doesn’t matter if it’s a puppy or kitten, healing injuries, treating illnesses, or just providing comfort for an aging pet, she loves the challenge of helping each new patient.
When at home, she loves to spend her weekends either checking out the Oregon vineyards or curled up with a good book, two cats, a dog, and a warm cup of tea.
Dr. Ranallo and her partner are transplants to the northwest from Madison, Wisconsin and are enjoying the greenery. They brought with them two bearded dragons, one snake, and one very spoiled cat. Since settling in Oregon in 2019 they have added a rescue chihuahua to the family. Dr. Ranallo likes to spend time watching scary movies, gardening, and fostering rescue cats. She has a particular interest in dental surgery and oral health.
